Welcome to Meels. By accessing or using our website (meels.com), mobile application, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About Meels
Meels Inc. ("Meels," "we," "us," or "our") is a Canadian meal delivery company that provides chef-prepared, ready-to-eat meals made with organic, non-GMO ingredients. We operate online at meels.com and through our mobile app for iOS and Android.
2. Eligibility
You must be of legal age in your province or territory to enter into a binding agreement. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Accounts
Registration
You may create an account by providing your name, email address, and a password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
Guest Checkout
You may place individual orders as a guest without creating an account. If you subscribe during guest checkout, an account will be created and you will be prompted to set a password.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
4. Orders & Pricing
Placing Orders
All orders are subject to availability and delivery area eligibility. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including suspected fraud or order limit violations.
Pricing
All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes do not affect orders already placed.
Delivery Areas
We deliver across Canada. Availability and shipping rates are determined by your postal code. Local delivery and extended (carrier) shipping options are available depending on your location. Visit our Delivery Areas page for details.
Delivery
Delivery dates are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by weather, carrier issues, or other circumstances beyond our control. A fallback shipping rate may apply if rate lookup is temporarily unavailable.
5. Subscriptions
How Subscriptions Work
When you subscribe, we auto-populate your weekly order based on your preferences. You can review, swap meals, adjust quantities, or skip any week before the menu cutoff date.
Billing
Subscription orders are not charged upfront. Your saved payment method is charged automatically at the menu cutoff date. You will receive an email with your order details and the cutoff date before any charge occurs.
Subscription Discount
Active subscribers receive a 10% discount on subscription orders. This discount does not apply after cancellation.
Cancellation & Pause
You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Pending orders that have not been charged will be cancelled. Orders already charged (past cutoff) will be delivered as scheduled. See our Cancellation Policy for full details.
Skipping
You may skip any upcoming delivery at no charge. Your subscription remains active and resumes the following week.
6. Cutoff & Edit Deadlines
Each weekly menu has a cutoff date after which orders are locked, charged, and enter production. The general edit deadline is Thursday at 9:00 AM (Eastern) before your delivery day. Orders placed after the edit deadline have a 1-hour grace period for modifications.
After cutoff, no cancellations, modifications, or refunds are available.
7. Payment
We accept credit cards processed through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers — only the last four digits, card brand, and expiration date are retained for your records. Full payment data is handled securely by Stripe in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
We also accept Interac e-Transfer for applicable orders. Interac payments are not refundable to the original payment method; see our Refund Policy.
8. Promotions & Discounts
Promo Codes
Promo codes are subject to terms specified at the time of issue, including expiry dates, usage limits, minimum order values, and eligibility restrictions (e.g., new customers only). We reserve the right to revoke or modify promotions at any time.
Multi-Order Campaigns
Some promotions span multiple orders with escalating discounts. Campaign enrolments may expire if orders are not placed within the specified grace period.
Stacking
Promotions may not be combined with subscription discounts or other offers unless explicitly stated. Only one promo code may be applied per order.
9. Referral Program
Each account receives a unique referral code. When a new customer places their first order using your code, both you and the referred customer may receive credit subject to the referral program tiers and minimum order requirements.
Referral credits are limited to one per referred customer. Self-referrals, fraudulent signups, and abuse (including duplicate accounts, shared IPs, or matching device fingerprints) may result in credit reversal and account suspension.
10. Reward Points
- Earning: 1 point per $1 spent on orders.
- Redemption: 100 points = $1.00 discount at checkout.
- Expiry: Points expire 365 days after earning. Placing a new order extends all active points.
- Non-expiring credits: Points issued from refunds, cancellations, or manual credits do not expire.
- Early confirmation bonus: Lock in your subscription order before cutoff to earn 50 bonus points.
11. Gift Cards
Gift cards are applied to your order total after other discounts. Gift card balances do not expire unless required by law. Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
12. Refunds & Returns
Refunds are available for orders cancelled before the menu cutoff. A processing fee may apply for card refunds. See our Refund Policy and Return Policy for complete details.
13. User Content
You may submit product reviews, including ratings and written feedback. By submitting a review, you grant Meels a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and reproduce your review in connection with the Service. Reviews are subject to moderation and must not contain offensive, misleading, or fraudulent content.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service — including text, graphics, logos, images, recipes, meal names, and software — is the property of Meels Inc. or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
15. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Create multiple accounts to abuse promotions, referrals, or rewards.
- Attempt to circumvent fraud detection or security measures.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' access.
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without permission.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meels Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Meels Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
